Dream Card V1— Ragnarök Season Launching June 24th!
New Game Mode and Ranked Season Breakdown
Introducing Ragnarök, our new game mode and season for Dream Card V1.
Ragnarök’s closed beta test was a success, but if you missed out on participating, don’t worry because the ranked season is coming to the Dream Card V1 universe on June 24th!
This season will introduce many exciting new features along with a MASSIVE 700,000 $XWG token reward for the winner!
Let’s break down the season, ranking system, in-game battle pass, and our brand-new “Runes” system:
| Ragnarök Season Breakdown
The ranked season will run for around three months, with ranked rewards distributed to all players weekly.
This season’s gameplay mechanics are broken down into six stages:
Stage 1: The Preparation Stage
Players’ decks must consist of rare or higher quality cards and have a total deck power of more than 3,000 to be eligible to compete in Ragnarök.
Players can enlist their decks for Ragnarök through the main game menu.
Stage 2: The Preliminary Stage
Players will participate in 1v1 PvP battles; this is where the majority of your ranking journey will take place. The top 16 players in each rank will be entered into a bracket-style elimination battle where winners can advance to the next match to determine their new rank.
Stage 3: The Adjustment Stage
Around two weeks before the end of the season, the top 16 players in the game will advance to the final stage of battles. This final battle will be conducted similarly to the regular battles.
Note: The final 16 players can only finalize their decks and runes once, and the decks can not be changed until the season is over.
Stage 4: The Voting Stage
If you didn’t make it into the top 16 players in the game, you still have a chance to win $XWG!
By obtaining tickets from our in-game battle pass, players can guess which of the top 16 players will win the final tournament. Each player will be able to place a maximum of 3 guesses.
Stage 5: The Final Stage
In the final stage, the top 16 players will be matched randomly in one-on-one battles and fight to see who will be Ragnarök’s champion!
Players will be eliminated from the tournament until one player is left standing (from 16 players to 8, 8 to 4, 4 to 2 and then 2 to 1).
Stage 6: The Settlement Stage
Lastly, the season will conclude at the settlement stage. Rewards for participating in Ragnarök will be distributed according to each player’s ranking and whether they managed to guess who the winner of the final tournament would be.
During Ragnarök, four sections of rewards will be distributed:
- Final Rewards
700,000 XWG + 5% of the remaining prize pool will be given to the sole winner of the final tournament. The reward will be directly issued and settled during the settlement stage.
- Finalist Rewards
The top 16 players participating in the final tournament will be awarded 700,000 XWG split between them (43,750 XWG each).
- Rank Rewards
Depending on your rank, your reward will vary. Players who reach a particular rank will share the rank rewards as long as they have unlocked the corresponding rank on their battle pass. Rank rewards will be distributed weekly to players.
- Betting Rewards
Players who correctly predict who the champion will be during the final tournament will be rewarded with a portion of the betting prize pool. 10,368,000,000 LUCID will be split amongst those who guessed correctly, with a higher percentage of the winnings being assigned to those who submitted the closest correct guesses. Rewards will be distributed during the settlement stage.
| The Ragnarök Ranking System
There will be nine achievable ranks for players to advance through during Ragnarök:
- All players will start at the lowest rank, Peasant, and then rank up to Merchant, Knight, Noble, Lord, King, Demigod, God and lastly, Almighty.
- From Peasant Rank to King Rank: players will be divided into five sub-ranks according to the following roman numerals: V, IV, III, II, I.
- Demigod, God and Almighty rank: players will only be placed into one sub-rank.
To advance your sub-rank:
- Players will need to obtain 100 victory points (ex., To go from Peasant V to Peasant IV). If a player loses a battle that resulted in their victory points going below zero, they will be demoted one sub-rank.
- Players in the Demigod and God ranks will only need to achieve 100 victory points once to move on to the next rank.
- Victory points will be infinitely accumulated in the Almighty rank, but players who drop below 0 victory points at the Almighty rank will still be demoted.
Note: The number of victory points each player gains after winning will depend on their rank.
| Battle Pass
One of the more significant changes that the Ragnarök update will bring is the addition of our very own battle pass! Levelling up your battle pass will be essential to claiming your rank rewards, so be sure to read this guide thoroughly.
- The battle pass levels will be divided into the same ranks as our ranking system, starting at Peasant and moving on to Merchant, Knight, Noble, Lord, King, Demigod, God, and Almighty.
The purchase price of the battle pass will depend on what rank you purchase the pass at:
- Peasant rank battle passes will cost 20 XWG, then 50, 80, 120, 160, 200, 300, 400 and then 500 XWG for the Almighty rank.
- Players can purchase their battle pass ranks individually or in a bundle, depending on what rank they have achieved so far.
For example: If a Ragnarök player has only gotten to the “Lord” rank during their time playing Dream Card, the highest level battle pass that they can purchase is the “Lord” level for 160 $XWG.
Battle Pass Rewards
There will be two types of battle pass rewards, prop rewards and LUCID rewards. The higher your battle pass level, the higher the number of rewards you can collect.
- Prop reward amounts will depend on a player’s purchased battle pass level. XWG token rewards will be distributed depending on the player’s rank from participating in ranked battles.
- Token rewards are calculated daily at 10:00 UTC and are accumulated into the battle pass after the settlement stage.
| New Gameplay Mechanic: Runes
Introducing, Runes! Runes will be critical in PvP battles, as they will grant your team huge stat bonuses that can help you get that winning edge over your opponent. With the addition of runes, PvP battles in Ragnarök will be more exciting than ever!
To begin adding rune effects to your deck, players will need to at least have purchased the Peasant level on the battle pass for 20 $XWG. This will unlock the “Aura” menu option on the Ragnarök main menu.
How do Players Obtain Runes?
Runes will come in 4 rarity levels: Rare, Epic, Legendary and Myth.
The player’s rank will determine the quality of the runes obtainable from a rune treasure box, so the higher your rank, the higher the chance of obtaining higher rarity runes.
Runes can be obtained by opening rune treasure boxes. These treasure boxes can be obtained by progressing your battle pass and through regular gameplay in Ragnarök. Rune treasure chests can be opened 30 times a day, with the first five times being free and the following 25 times costing 1 XWG token per opening. Opening limits are reset at 0:00 (UTC) every day.
Players with ranks:
- Peasant to Knight will only be able to obtain Rare quality runes.
- Noble to King will be able to obtain Epic runes along with Rare runes.
- Demigod to God will be able to obtain Legendary quality runes along with the lower quality runes.
- God to Almighty will have access to all four qualities of runes.
Rune Properties:
Each obtained rune will be able to grant one or two special stat boosts to your deck (regular runes and Essence runes, respectively). The main rune properties will include HP, ATK, Thorns, Defense, Hit, Dodge, Lifesteal and Recovery. Compared to regular runes, Essence runes can grant two stat boosts to your deck instead of just one.
Depending on the combination of stats, Essence runes will have one of the following names:
Strength Essence, Deterrence Essence, Tireless Essence, Vitality Essence,
Hawkeye Essence, Assassin Essence, Storm Essence, Potent Essence, Toxic Essence, Prism Essence, Cunning Essence, Toughness Essence, Solidification Essence, Dexterity Essence, Undead Essence and Sublime Essence.
Crafting and Runes:
Using $XWG, players can craft runes to obtain a specific attribute on a rune or to obtain a higher quality rune.
Placing three runes into the rune crafting menu will grant you a rune of equal rarity but with new attributes.
Placing five runes into the rune crafting menu will grant you a one-tier higher quality rune (5 Rare for 1 Epic, for example).
Note: It will also cost two XWG tokens every time you try rune crafting.
Aura:
Each player will be able to equip 18 runes in total, consisting of 15 regular runes and 3 Essence runes. The same type of rune can be set up to 6 times, but unique Essence runes can only be set once per deck.
| Anti-Stall Mechanics
Along with the Ragnarök ranked season, we’ll also be introducing a new mechanic that will hopefully help smooth out the PvP experience in Dream card v1.
An anti-stall system will be added with the Ragnarök update, preventing players from purposefully dragging out PvP battles and ruining the match for their opponents.
Here’s how the anti-stall system will work:
If a player delays 3 or more rounds in a single match by waiting out the match timer and having the game automatically switch rounds, the round time will be reduced.
The round timer will be reduced by 3 seconds for each additional round that is delayed. This will force the player that is delaying rounds to play faster, or risk having their round time reduced even further.
Are you ready for Ragnarok? 👑
We’re incredibly excited for this update to launch, and we can’t wait to see what new builds will be made with the new “Runes” system. We are also eager to see which members of the XWG community will rank in the top 16 players for a shot at winning the 1,000,000 $XWG grand prize!
Stay tuned for the TBA time of launch, and start getting your Dream Card’s ready for June 24th, 2022!
Please note that players should follow in-game information for accurate reward amounts. Reward amounts are subject to change at any time according to the game's discretion.
