Cutting science funding today costs us more overall
Ethan Siegel

Does anyone really believe that cutting your tax dollars to go fund silly social experiments in universities is gonna impede science growth or advances in science or technology?

Where is all that taking place? In a lab or psych 101 class or Boston Dynamics? A social experiment in the streets in the name of science or at Google or Amazon?

It’s like saying if my tax dollars doesn’t go to some elite kids art project at Cambridge, then all art will die.

Think of famous artists through the ages and which ones had federal funding? Do the same for science and inventions.

Federal dollars equals huge oversight. Lots of people who know nothing about science making decisions on how that money will be spent based on their own social worldview.

It’s the opposite of progress
