Guides

The Handy Guide to Sims Socializing

Simulation games are fun games where you can imitate real-life activities. With The Sims FreePlay, you get to create a Sim from scratch and watch it experience life to the fullest with your help. You can customize your Sim, its home, make it go to parties, invest in an excellent career, and forge lasting relationships.

Like in real life, Sims can also form romantic relationships and get married. You can forge close-knit bonds with friendly neighbors as well. You can have a family, witness your baby bump develop, watch your kids grow, and so much more. Once you get a feel for these activities, it’s impossible to not get immersed in the game.

If you are looking to try this one out, we highly recommend you getting the Sims FreePlay PC download. You can get the best experience out of it if you are playing on your PC. On that note, let’s get to learning how Sims socialize and form your relationships the Sims way.

Forging Unbreakable Friendships

In real life, everybody starts as acquaintances, then friends, then good companions, and lastly, best buddies. These stages are the determining factors for forging unbreakable bonds, and it’s the same process in The Sims FreePlay. If you want to befriend your fellow Sim, you need to make friendly gestures that add up to your XP as well as earning Simoleons.

You can do pleasant interactions such as Chest Bump, Bro Hug, or Be Nice. All of these will give you more experience points and Simoleons until you reach the next stage of your friendship. Once you reach the best friend stage, there’s no going back unless you become romantic or break it by being unfriendly.

Maintaining a Romantic
Relationship in The Sims FreePlay

If you want to romance another Sim in the game, you will need to partake in romantic interactions. It’s not the same as the ones you have with your friends. A few examples of romantic interactions are Be Romantic and Kiss Hand. The popular ‘Woohoo’ gesture is for partners, engaged, and married Sims only. As you advance through the Romantic Stages, you earn XP and Simoleons, much like when you form Friendly Relationships. If you’re wondering what these Romantic Stages are like then gander at the list here:

  • Budding Romance + 150xp — Kiss Cheek
  • Date + 200xp — Kiss Hand
  • Partners + 250xp — WooHoo, Propose Marriage
  • Engaged + 300xp
  • Married + 350xp

If you initiate a romantic interaction with a third-party Sim, your relationship will deteriorate. You will be given the option to Break Up with your current partner, and level down to becoming Acquaintances. In consequence, you will need to start from the bottom if you want to get close to them again.

Once you and your romantic Sim become partners, there is an option for you to Propose Marriage. If pursued, you will need to buy an engagement ring. The more expensive the ring, the more chances your partner will say yes. Take note however, that you wouldn’t be able to seal your marriage until you move in together.

Making Enemies Amongst Fellow Sims

Everybody has a person that they don’t like and that applies to the game as well. Like real people, Sims can also have enemies as long as you choose the right interaction. You can select from Be Rude, Rude Hand Gesture, Slap, and Complain.

These interactions will evoke negative reactions from another Sim, and they will slowly hate you for being rude to them. The last stage of making enemies is called Nemesis. Ultimately, this is the height of your rivalry and you can’t go change it unless you make amends. Of course, you get to earn experience points and Simoleons if you proceed with this interaction. If you’d like to know the stages, here is the list:

  1. Dislike
  2. Enemy
  3. Nemesis

Having your own Nemesis is fun and will breathe life to your Sims. Everybody has enemies, but just make sure it doesn’t stay like that for too long.
