Enjoy a summer getaway to St. Pete/Clearwater, Florida
If you’re planning a visit to Florida this summer, choosing a great vacation spot can be challenging. The main reason why vacationers have such a hard time choosing a location is because Florida has so much to offer making it difficult just where to begin.
One place that I have traveled to numerous times is St Pete/Clearwater on the Gulf of Mexico. The area appeals to individuals and families alike since it offers plenty of attractions.
One of my favorite places to explore is Heritage Village where you can step back in time to see what the area was like in the 18th century. The village features a 21-acre natural living museum made up of old historic homes set in a natural pine and palmetto landscape. Some of the featured buildings include the McMullen-Coachman Log Cabin; built in 1852, railroad depot, the smokehouse, and general store.
Another attraction that is sure to keep children entertained is the Great Explorations. The exhibit features magnets, microscopes, strobe lights, lasers, pipes, and robots. Children will have fun for hours interacting with the exhibits.
The whole family will have fun on Captain Memo’s Original Pirate Cruise. It is a 2-hour excursion with fun and excitement on the Pirate’s Ransom, a 70-foot ship complete with life cannons fired and swashbuckling pirates.
If you are a thrill-seeker, you’ve got to take a ride on the Sea Screamer. The watercraft will take you through Clearwater Harbor and Pass while watching for dolphins. Once you are out in the open Gulf, get ready for the ride of your life. Hold on as the boat gains speed and races past Clearwater’s gorgeous beaches.
