The scarcity of petroleum products is imminent in Nigeria as some depots have stopped loading-trucks, The Nation learnt on Wednesday.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN ) National Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed this to our Abuja correspondent on phone.

He added that the #EndSARS protests and the resultant crises have stopped the marketers from transiting their loaded trucks.

According to him, since petroleum products are highly inflammable, the drivers decided to park their trucks in safe places nationwide.

He explained that since consumers buy fuel on daily basis and there is no replacement, there is bound to be a scarcity of petroleum products.

Maigandi further said the marketers do not hoard products so there will be no reservoirs to turn to upon the exhaustion of available stock.

Asked whether there is any fear of scarcity, he said “definitely, because some of the depots are not loading due of insecurity.

“The ones that have already loaded parked their trucks in the yards so that protesters will not set them on fire. There is no way you can have sufficient fuels in the filling stations because we don’t do hoarding.”

The IPMAN National Vice President urged the protesters to dialogue with the Federal Government for the amicable resolution of the crises.

He asked them to embrace the olive branch because of the economic losses that emanate from the crisis.

His words: “The EndSARS issue is a Nigerian issue so the protesters and government should dialogue over it for a lasting solution. Nigerians (both government and the governed need to have attitudinal change. So, it is better to dialogue. “

The beginning of suffering for Nigerians. We have been warning that people should back off and allows government to implement their demands, but the fools remain on major roads blocking free flow of traffic.

You can not engage a government and want the her to meet your demands over night. It has to go through a lot of process.

Now look at where we found ourselves. Those working in orientals, the nations, TVC, BANKS, PRIVATE ORGANISATIONS. LEKKI TOLL GATE ETC HAVE MOMENTARILY BEEN RENDERED JOBLESS.ADDED TO THE ALREADY UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THE COUNTRY.

More trouble looms. We will never know what hits us in the coming days

Bad.

I hope the youths will maximize this opportunity by venturing into full-time agriculture.

The citizens have no business with fuel scarcity or any other national resources. That’s why we have a government and a democracy to checkmate them.

Nigeria needs the youths for agriculture.

Tuesday night, the 20th day of October 2020 was called Black Tuesday because of what many believe to be the killing of peaceful protesters at Lekki toll gate.
DJ switch was showing live feeds and many celebrities were reported to have been killed. With the sound of gunfire at the background, there was no reason not to believe what they were saying.
As a result of that news, it was termed the Lekki massacre. Those who heard the news were stunned. Reaction began to pour in and without thinking the GTB, ZEnith and Polaris bank close to the venue were reported to have been set ablaze.

Not satisfied with that, they proceeded to the toll gate and set it ablaze. All of that happened that same night. By the next day many other buildings and businesses were to go down.

First let us start with the definition of what a massacre is, the Oxford dictionary defines it as “an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of many people.” Usually at the end of a massacre, dead bodies litter everywhere and there would be enough blood on the ground to leave trails of the events that had happened there.

Even though the dust at Lekki toll gate is yet to settle, only the following facts can be ascertain.

1: Earlier inn the day, some security camera were removed, however, the governor says only the etag barcode scanners and not CCTV cameras were removed.
2: The lights were turned off
3: Soldiers arrived at the venue just before dawn
4: Soldiers asked protesters to go home and started shoot (the question is, did they shoot to kill or shoot to scare?)
5: People got injured (So far no evidence of injury from gunshots, the injuries could have been as a result of the ensuring stampede)
6: The injured people were taken to the hospital
7: The governor immediately went out to visit the hospital and undertake an on-the-spot assessment to determine the immediate and remote cause of the incident
8: The governor in a state wide broadcast came out to state that no one died as a result of the shooting. He would later come out to say that one person died at the hospital as a result of the complications in the injuries he had.

Those are the facts as I remember them. Next are the fiction or fake news

Fiction or fake news №1: That there was a massacre.
Verdict: Massacre will result in a blood bath, in a place like lekki, it cannot be hidden

Fiction or fake news №2: Eniola Badmus dies as a result of the shooting.
Verdict: She came out herself to debunk the news

Fiction or fake news №3: Then there was a picture of a lad carrying a lady wrapped in the nation’s flag
Verdict: It turned out to be a drama acted on independence day titlled “Heal Our Land Ooh Lord” acted by NCCF Akwa Ibom (I would love to watch it if anyone has a link to the drama)

Fiction or fake news №4: Many other images of dead people with names
Verdict: Many of those people have come out themselves to say that not only are they alive some of them claimed not to have even be there that night

Fiction or fake news №5: Soldiers were shooting directly at protesters
Verdict: This is the one that I wanted to verify as much as possible, but the video that I watched was of soldiers shooting into the air. I haven’t found any other video showing otherwise. And let’s think of it, if those shots were directed at the protesters, there would have been real massacre because the protesters would have had no cover because of the way the toll gate is. With the number of gunshots heard, Protesters would have been falling one by one. So far no concrete evidence to show or confirm that was what happened other than the commentary of people who were probably exaggerating, emotional or trying to blow their sense of self-worth out of proportion.

Fiction or fake news №6: Pictures of dead people covered in Nigerian flag
Verdict: Many of those pictures were pictures of dead people from other incidents and not at the Lekki toll gate. Some of them showed that they happened during the day whereas anything “Lekki toll gate massacre” would be at night.

The reaction after that unverified news has left Lagos wondering, What Really happened?

In all of these, let us all appeal for calm. #Endsars does not mean we should destroy the few legacies we have.

Like, are you being willfully stupid or what?

Who paid me to believe there was no massacre? Absence of facts.

Show proof bro. Let’s see the proofs you have got that there was a massacre. Stop believing empty talks.

This is the case of Delphidus and Julian the Emperor. Delphidus accusing another person about what he couldn’t prove.

“Oh, illustrious Caesar!” he said, “ if it is sufficient to deny charges, what will become of the guilty?” to which Julian the Emperor replied, “If it sufficient to be accused, who can be innocent?”

You are the paid propagandist. Believing hook, line and sinker without a shred of proof.

Besides, does military clampdown, if at all there was killing, warrant the slew of lawlessness and wickedness perpetuated by these so-called miscreants?

Thank you so much for your submissions.

I fell for it big time but was surprised when the very next morning, watching Arise TV correspondent at the sceen of the incident, I never saw any blood on the ground that you’ll ordinarily see in a massacre(mind you, Lekki is tarred not bare ground), and even when there was a drone view of the particular area. That was when it occurred to me that it was all social media fake news.

Yes, there were injuries, but death, I doubt very much.

Now my question is this,
Why are people blaming Gov Sanwo-Olu knowing fully well he had no authority over the army. These same people never blamed Gov El Rufai when the army killed over 350 shites in Kaduna or nobody blamed Abia state Gov when this same Buratai took Operation Crocodile smile to the east to kill people. Why are they now blaming a Gov who identified with the protesters and also took their letter to the president who did nothing? Why blame a Gov who made sure no police harrassed the protesters.

2. Why the planned attack on Asiwaju Tinubu?
I am forced to ask this particular question because we all know Asiwaju has been demonized by a particular section of the country since GEJ lost the 2015 presidential election.
They don’t know planned attack on Asiwaju’s companies will not directly affect him but the thousands of Nigerians employed in those organizations. The ripple effect of this destructions are that million will go hungry very soon.
