Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo” First Streaming-Only Album To Go Platinum
Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo” has been streamed over 3 billion times worldwide.
Yeezy maintains his dominance as the most influential — if not the most creative — artist in the rap world. The RIAA confirmed that Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo” is the first ever streaming-only album to go platinum.
Since its release in February last year, the critically-acclaimed project has sold one million units. It was also the first streaming-only album to reach number 1 on the US chart. Ye is always trying to push the artistic envelope and this latest win may encourage others to follow in his footsteps and go full digital. So much for vinyl lovers.
The Chi-town native has been involved in fashion ventures as well. His collaboration with Adidas, the Yeezy line of sneakers, has rivaled Nike’s Air Jordans as the most popular sports shoes of the decade.
