Marvel, DC and King Features Syndicate to announce new Avengers / Justice League / Lockhorns crossover franchise

Later this week, Marvel and D.C. will be announcing the one thing most geeks have been dreaming about their entire lives — a Justice League/Avengers crossover franchise, to debut in 2017 with a film titled “Heroes Unchained,” directed by Neil Rathburn and scripted by “Arkman: Believer” scribe Alan Pramble. And here’s the best part — not only have these two comic book megastudios gotten involved, but they have also secured licensing with another comic book universe, one that comics fans never thought would never end up on the big screen: King Features Syndicate, home of Marmaduke, the Lockhorns, Heathcliff and everyone’s favorite lazy G.I. — Beetle Bailey!

The first film has been fast-tracked through development and will feature Beatle, Heathcliff and Andy Capp getting drunk at a bar near the base with Dagwood from Blondie and Jon from Garfield. They are about to leave when Leroy Lockhorn walks in and makes a joke about how much he hates his wife, who follows in afterwords looking for Leroy as he hides behind Marmaduke.
The next two hours of the movie involve Heathcliff going through the bar’s trash for food, until the very end, when Superman, Captain America, Darth Maul and The Walking Dead all trip over a box of hand grenades Beetle accidentally left on the ground and they all die, and Batman dies too. Check out this awesome concept art that Marvel/King Features has released already!
