Why I’m Quitting Social Media (and You Should Too)

Privileged. If you saw pictures of the founders of most social media sites that would be the first word you would think of.

And yet if you look at the content posted on these platforms, the words would be very different — “diversity” and “diverse voices” spring to my mind.

But there is one phrase that no one thinks of when they see a social feed. And that phrase is

I’m on Snap-Chat, Tumblr, Peach, LiveJournal, every one of these apps and I never see a single damn goose pic!

Is the algorithm biased? Is this evidence of some greater societal problem? I don’t care! Show me the geese and show me them now or I’m deleting all my accounts and taking my goose-lovin’ eyes to the ORIGINAL Snap-Chat — a little place called the POND!!!!
