GSoC 2024 |Week 04 UI Development

As we move into Week 5 of GSoC 2024, I’m excited to share the progress and challenges encountered over the past week 04.

Early UI Development Excitement

I started working on the UI, and watching the design come to life with colors, textures, and interactions .These initial stages of UI development were incredibly satisfying.

Challenges
Through the week I encountered a slight learning curve as far as react Hooks are concerned but with resources and guidance here and there I made progress.

Also faced the challenge with proxing the CFL backend, which the openmrs CLI came in handy in the resolve. with the command
“yarn start — sources=packages/esm-messages-app. — port=3000 — backend=https://demo.jnj.connect-for-life.org. ”

Looking Forward: Fine-Tuning the UI

With the backend integration solution , I am focusing on further fine-tuning the UI to meet and exceed our design expectations over the next week .

This week’s progress was incredibly rewarding. The OpenMRS CLI was crucial in overcoming integration challenges.
