Folks in QA get that a lot, and let me tell you: they love it. QA has the added indignity of people wanting to get into the field for the express purpose of using it as a stepping stone to something else. Writing doesn’t get that, at least, so I should be thankful.

Speaking as an SQA, I wish all developers would start off in QA, so that they understand the frustration their team are put through when they decide they don’t need to test their code works.

Though I should add I do SQA outside of game development, where testing in development is probably simpler
