4 chores for a successful morning cleaning routine
Addressing cleaning chores in the morning may seem counter-intuitive, but there is some merit to it. You may feel like you want to just lie in bed, chill or go out with friends and finally deal with cleaning when you come back, but that is not feasible. Your motivation will be long gone even before you have had a chance to get down to cleaning.
Doing some cleaning tasks first thing in the morning is a sure way to spark your day. There is no need to engage in complicated and time-consuming chores. Doing some simple ones is enough to make your routine easier and more manageable. Here is a list of tasks that you should consider:
- Unload/start the washing machine — there are two best times to use a washing machine: before you go to bed or early morning. If the sound does not bother you, washing during the night is the way to go. It means you will save time the next day. In this case, all you need to do early morning is unload the washing machine and take care of the clothes. That will give them enough time to dry so that you can iron them later. If you are not a fan of washing in the night, then you should start the cycle early morning. That way you can even do two loads during the day if there are a lot of dirty clothes.
- Unload the dishwasher — did you know that people usually pile up dirty dishes in their sink because they did not unload the dishwasher? If you have this machine, you should take advantage of it. This means taking your time to unload the dishes when they are clean enough. The morning is an ideal time for it, as you usually have a few minutes of downtime when making breakfast. Having an empty dishwasher early on means that you can load your dishes there directly after use, thus preventing any pile up in the sink.
- Make your bed — making your bed is an easy victory you can achieve early on in the day. That is the simplest way to make the whole place look organised and cleaner. Furthermore, you do not want your sheets to collect dust throughout the day, so it makes sense to address this simple task. As a side bonus, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and get on with your day in an elevated mood.
- A rapid pick-up — quickly dealing with clutter is essential for making further cleaning efforts easier and more effective. Invest a few minutes of your morning in picking up items that do not belong in the kitchen, living room and practically any room you go in. As you go, take note of what needs to be done and prepare when you get to this phase of the day.
Investing a little in these morning tasks goes a long way in ensuring that you clean the place thoroughly without any issue. Your home cleaning routine will improve a lot!
