Snoop Dogg Celebrates 27 Years of Marriage with Shante Broadus
Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus recently marked their 27th wedding anniversary, celebrating a love story that began in high school.
The rapper, 52, took to Instagram on June 15 to share a heartfelt post, featuring photos of the couple in matching pink-and-white sweatsuits. The images show the couple, with Snoop’s arm affectionately around Shante, highlighting their enduring bond.
Snoop and Shante, both attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California, where they first met as teenagers and even went to prom together in 1989. They eventually tied the knot in June 1997 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California. The couple has three children together: sons Cordé (29) and Cordell (27), and daughter Cori (24). Snoop also has a 25-year-old son, Julian, from a previous relationship.
Their journey has seen its share of challenges, including a brief split in 2004. However, they reconciled and renewed their vows in 2008. Reflecting on their reconciliation, Snoop once told PEOPLE, “I thought I was the man, and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that until I realized that what I had at home was irreplaceable.”
The couple also experienced the heartbreak of losing their grandson Kai Love in 2019, who passed away at just 10 days old. Despite these trials, their love and commitment have remained steadfast. Snoop attributes their lasting marriage to their mutual sacrifices and understanding of each other’s dreams and goals. He shared on Today in 2023, “When you truly love somebody, there ain’t nothing you can do to break that up, and I feel like that was true love at first sight.”
