Camlica Tower and Architectural Features

Camlica Tower was designed as a radio and television tower. The tower, which can be seen from almost anywhere in Istanbul, has a total height of 369 meters, 221 meters of which is a reinforced concrete structure and 168 meters is an antenna.

Camlica Tower, Camlica Hill Television and Radio Tower, which was opened by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 2011, was designed in the idea project competition. It is a project that won a prize in the competition and was implemented.

It was opened on May 29, 2021, and after the tower was put into service, all antenna and antenna towers in the city were removed. This building, whose architectural design belongs to Melike Altınışık, is unlike any other building. Inspired by the tulip flower, it is designed as a single piece. About 100 radio broadcasts from this tower can broadcast without cutting each other’s power and without interfering with their frequencies.

The tower has an observation deck and a restaurant. Light shows are also provided from this Tower on special days.

How to get to Camlica hill?

Access to Camlica Hill by Public Transport

It is possible to go to Çamlıca Hill by public transport via Üsküdar. People living on the Anatolian side can go to Çamlıca Hill by public transport after arriving in Üsküdar. It is possible to reach Üsküdar by bus lines 11A, 11D, 11E, 11F, 11K, 11L, 11ST, 11V, 11ÜS, 320, 9A, 9Ç, 9ÜD and 9Ş. You should get on these bus lines from Üsküdar and get off at Çamlıca stop. After getting off at Çamlıca stop, you can reach Çamlıca Hill by walking for a short time.

It is also possible to reach Çamlıca Hill from Kadıköy district. For this, you need to take the 13, 13B, 14, 14D, 14F, 14K and 14R bus lines from the Kadıköy Rıhtım bus lines. With these buses, after getting off at Çamlıca Şehit Onur E. stop, you need to go to an upper street. You can reach Çamlıca Hill by walking for 15 minutes next to the Çamlıca Touristic Sign.

It is possible to reach Çamlıca Hill from Ümraniye. For this, 13, 9C, 9Ü, 9ÜD, 9C. It is also possible to get on the lines 320 VE 522 and get off at the Turistik Çamlıca Facility stop.
