THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE

I think a break-through just occurred…

My name is Torey (some call me “T”) and I help urbanites (like yourself), who are interested in buying and selling real estate, connect the dot’s between the stuff have have already seen online or their past experiences, to what they actually need to know in today’s real estate markets in order to accomplish their goals…

Hey world. In the 31st episode of Torey’sThoughts touching on this book I just finished up reading called “The ONE Thing” by Gary Keller & Jay Papasan. First off, you need to read this book, no matter what your goal or situation is in life.

As a brief synopsis of the book, Gary talks about what that one thing is that can change everything else in your life. Ironically the principle within the book is focusing on the ONE thing most important to you achieving your goals and devoting a significant amount of time to accomplishing that task. The idea is to take the big idea and go small until you find that the most important action that you can take right now, and focus a disproportional amount of your effort on it until you achieve your goal. Then it is on to the next one.

Now, I personally think one of the cool things about the people who are following my content for the business perspective is you are with me for my break downs and break throughs in real time. This break through is more of the refined end result of what we talked about in the 27th episode of Torey’sThoughts titled “How can I Organize My Life?”. Whereas that episode talked about the large idea of sticking to a schedule, this episode is about how to fill that schedule purposely to put you in the best position to achieve your goals. In many ways scheduling and your purpose are closely aligned in the path of getting from where you are now, to your goals.

The principle of managing my own time against my larger goal is the most important thing to me, and in many ways, I look at the principle of prioritizing your time based off of the tasks importance to my goals as being the most fundamental building block a business can be built off of. With this idea alone, if I look back at myself 4 years ago and knew this principle, I am certain that the trajectory of those business’s would have changed. This being said, I lived, I learned, and I do not believe it was meant to be. So I am happy where I am now in the pursuit of and amazing 2017 sales year.

Thanks to implementing my focus on only what matters, I have been able to spend less time “working” because I am more efficient in my day, I am more purposeful and effective with each action I take, I am seeing results in my business, and I am more clear and present for each task at hand because I no longer have to thing “what’s next?” (my calendar tells me that because I plan it out the day before.) Another side effect of implementing this thought process is, and correct me if I am wrong, but the direction and storyline to my videos and these very blogs is becoming more focused and clear to what the story being told is.

Now, what would I do if I were you? Great question. If you read my blog or watched the video about my 2016 Goals VLog July Recap, you would know that the lesson I learned in the month was that you need to “pay to play”. Frankly, for the purposes of this conversation, that means I would buy the book and read it the whole way though. Take notes or do whatever works for you in order to memorize it and internalize the concepts. The only way you will value this concept and let it work for you is if you immerse yourself in the experience that this book has to offer. By doing that, I hope you take a straighter path to personal success than I did.

QUESTION: Based on _________ goal, what is the ONE Thing you can do in the next 5 years to be on track to achieve it?
