How Successful Was Our Online Persona?

How successful were we at creating a fake person?Upon reflection i think that our character Dan Jones was very believable as he was interactive with other people on Twitter and Tumblr which resulted in him gaining followers and for people to believe that he was a real person.By sharing his interests, likes and dislikes throughout Tumblr,Twitter and Instagram it allowed the characters personality and background be able to be created and played out on the platforms.

The company’s Instagram and Facebook allowed us to really make our character more believable because no one really thinks people would have the time to create that many accounts to create a fake online persona. The more we posted and shared the more people that were drawn to our platforms.I feel for the timescale that we had to create the character and get the platforms up and running we were very successful and if we contuined to grow these platforms and pages the numbers would continue to rise.

I discovered that people really believed the company because of the comments that they would post on the Instagram posts such as “All done, fingers crossed”This showed that we were successful in the whole concept of our idea.

If i could change anything about it our persona i would have used a different image as the main characters face as anybody out there could recognise him as a model and fiance of Pixie Lott which would be a problem if the company AAA became more popular as more people could call the company out on not being real and the company could face a lawsuit from the model if he saw his face was being used without his permission. This would end up exposing the company to the world and ruining the online persona.
