My Final Learning Journal. Week-6
So this week is our final week in the Kindwork bootcamp, I’m very grateful to have had this Kindwork Journey. I am grateful to have met such wonderful individuals that ultimately helped me shape my skills in preparation for my next career step.
This has been so cool. I loved getting to meet everyone, learn all technical skills, go to different job sites, and to build everlasting great relationships that’ll last a lifetime. And for that Kate and Jeanine, I thank you both.
I’m excited to share a recap of the many new digital, professional, and CX skills we’ve covered over the course of this 250+ hour course. This week I’ll explain my top 5 takeaways from the whole Bootcamp:
- GoogleSuite: I enjoyed learning Google Suite tools like Docs, Slides, and Sheets. It’s a critical skill to have going into a tech company. I also learned some things I did not know before like google sheets. I look forward to developing my G suite skills further. I want to focus on expanding my knowledge google sheets since that’s frequently used in companies. Also, because I want to stand out not just be another employee.
- Further developing our professional skills: This was really important for me to master because we MUST represent ourselves not just well but exceptionally well to stand out to our hiring managers. From elevator pitches, linkedIn profiles to Mock Interviews and Resumes. I know I will stand out and am ready for the job search. But aside from that so I am ready to work in professional settings. I am ready for whatever task comes my way in the work environment.
- Capstone Support Project: This had an impact on me because we answered timed tickets in groups of 3. I liked it a lot because I love working on teams and collaborating with others. It brings out my great team working abilities, it was also good to see worked and what did not. This was something
- awesome company site visits like Zola and Facebook: These visits were eye-opening to what my future can look like if I put the work in. We learned from the panelists to be resilient and not be afraid to speak up. It sets you apart from others and these visits taught me that I too can be a Product Manager in the future. Always put your best foot forward!
- KindWork networking event: I’m not going to lie, I was pretty nervous but Lillian and Mana told me I was doing great and gave excellent feedbank. So I went with it and that calmed my nerves a bit. It definitely went better with the networking mixers I’ve done in the past. I let it flow, had my elevator pitch ready and rather than dealing with my imposter syndrome, which sucks, I focused on getting to know the people at the event. So, don’t limit yourself.
Thank You all for being a part of my journey through my Bootcamp and as I launch my tech career. Thank you for everything to Kate and Jeanine, the best teachers ever!
