I’ve been there! I was a junior dev looking for work and rapidly burning through my savings in SF at age 34! It was a crazy experience… as I improved my skills I continued getting no job offers until it suddenly flipped and I was getting tons of offers. It was ridiculous how binary it was.

Kind of reminds me of the theme of Tyler Cowan’s book Average is over.
