I use both Arch and FreeBSD on a daily basis. Why did you choose Arch? The stated purpose of Arch Linux is to give you a minimal system which you then configure yourself, which is basically the opposite of what a Mac is. Doubly so for FreeBSD — whoever told you to install that as a desktop os was flat out wrong. I’m curious why you didn’t try Ubuntu or Fedora, which are designed to be friendly desktop systems.
