Travellers

Let’s be travellers
You and I,
Soar away into the great blue sky
We’ll laugh among raindrops
Cry in the sun,
Alone among mortals
On paths of none.
Let’s dive into a depthless ocean
And never find our way above
We’ll sing the song of deathless Sirens,
Doomed instead by the fate of love.
Let’s be travellers
You and I,
Envying innocence in cynical sighs
We’ll rise with the sunset
Fall with the dawn
Forsaking it all
To be Ebony’s pawn
Let’s ask to suffer a thousand lashes
Begging destiny to open the door
We’ll find another way, we will
Climbing to Heaven on the oath we swore
Come, won’t you?
We could be travellers,
You and I;
Lose ourselves to a burning fire
Reborn in the ashes
Of a funeral pyre.
