Vic Mignogna vs Funimation

This is a case that has divided the Anime Community here in America.

So what exactly happened that kicked things off?

To begin with, at 2:08am on January 16th 2019, @hanleia tweets into the Twitter void "Vic Mignogna is a homophobic rude asshole who has been creepy to underage female fans for over ten years and I’ve been screaming about this since 2010 but every year nothing changes."
Something isn’t right about his tweet from just a glance. Let’s see "over ten years..." As well as, "I’ve been screaming about this since 2010..." If you’ve been screaming about this for over ten years then your accusations would have to take place before 2010 since the year is currently 2019 and it’s only been 9 years since 2010.

The next tweet that was screamed into the Twitter void was @Marzgurl at 1am on January 17th, 2019. She tweeted out saying: "Hard to say this, esp. on a night that a DBZ film dropped, and knowing that I have friends/acquaintances at Funi. But... @Funimation I think it may be time to reconsider hiring Vic Mignogna as a voice actor in the future due to years and great volumes of sexual misconduct."
Let’s break this down right now: First, “I have friends/acquaintances at Funi.” seems very suspicious and secondly; Vic has never been taken to court over great volumes of sexual misconduct before the year of 2019. There have been no police reports against Vic before the year of 2019 concerning sexual misconduct. It should be noted that Vic still has yet to be charged or taken to court during the year of 2019 for “great volumes of sexual misconduct”. At around the same time, MarzGurl reiterates further and explains "Does this need, like, a hashtag or something? Something like, I dunno... #KickVic..." And thus the first movement called #KickVic is created and centered around giving Vic Mignogna justice for the accusations of "years and great volumes of sexual misconduct" as well as homophobia and finally; a pedophilia accusation to tie it all down.
Vic doesn’t sound like a nice guy right now does he? Pedophilia, Homophobia, and years and great volumes of sexual misconduct. That is until you consider the following:
1.) Vic fought back against Homophobia through Christianity as evidenced by a video of him being disappointed and triggered by homophobic protesters outside a convention. He has also worked with LGBTQ members and encouraged them to be happy and be themselves.
2.) Vic has never been to court for any of these crimes nor has he settled when being judged for committing these crimes.
3.) There is no solid proof at all for these crimes against him.

Next let’s review; Monica Rial and her tweet. Remember she’s just dropping in to tell us this. Monica Rial then tweets out at 2:28pm on February 6th, 2019 saying "Dropping in to say this: stop harassing my friends and colleagues. You want the truth? IT HAPPENED TO ME! I had hoped it wouldn’t come to this but here we are. I don’t owe you anything but if it’ll stop it from happening to someone else, then so be it."
Okay; let’s break this tweet down. First off, "IT HAPPENED TO ME!" Is a very vague statement. What happened? Where? With Vic Mignogna? Why? If it was sexual misconduct that happened; why didn’t you report it to the police? In this statement Monica Rial states that "I don’t owe you anything but if it’ll stop it from happening to someone else, then so be it."
Monica; if that was the case, why didn’t you join @hanleia’s supposed 10 year plus crusade when it happened? Obviously this is such a big issue that it should’ve been reported at least once. However it wasn’t reported once.

Can I say that Vic sexually misconducts himself against Monica Rial?

I cannot off of this tweet alone due to it’s vague nature and wording.

However, Monica Rial decided to clarify for everyone and published a two page document on Twitter at 7:15pm on February 19th, 2019 and after reading it, I’m appalled.
Can I say that her story is true? No because it hasn’t been legally proven to be true. I will take the story into consideration though because people always deserve a chance to speak their side of a story. I believe that the story should’ve been shown in a court of law that way it would have to be legally legitimate. From a certain perspective; it seems like these stories were fed to Twitter for a reaction of some sort. I also tend to disagree with throwing out accusations without proof before you ruin someone’s life.
It should be noted that Monica Rial has been acting weird like threatening to call Homeland Security as well as contact the FBI towards DBS and DBZ fans on Twitter.
It should also be noted that Vic Mignogna was tweeting out around the same time that he didn’t want fans of his involved for fear of harm coming to them.
Next, let’s go back a few days before the Monica Rial Twitter document was published. Let’s go back to February 6th, 2019 at 9:05pm for an opinion on Vic Mignogna from Voice Actress and former coworker Jamie Marchi who on Twitter says: "Yes, I want his head. I want his balls. I want him to feel an ounce of the pain he’s caused other and then fucking choke on it. I want you to take his dick out of your ears so you can actually hear reality. But, you know, that’s just me."

The tweet in itself feels very violent and emotionally charged to me. Its directed to two parties with the first being Vic. She wants his head, his balls, and for him to feel pain and choke on it. The only question I have for that is: “What is accomplished by calling for a Twitter execution instead of bringing evidence to the proper authorities?”The second part of her tweet seems to be directed at people on Twitter who took up the hashtag of #IStandWithVic and questioned her about her lack of evidence to support her statement of Vic being a sexual predator.
With lack of evidence in one hand and fiery attitude in the other; Jamie has spent most of the past months responding to trolls and pissed of Twitter users in what I feel is an attempt to let off steam on this issue because when it comes to a proper debate about Vic’s innocence, how cons can be safer, or even why she has a lack of evidence she is no where to be found.

One final note is a point I’d like to elaborate on further.
I mentioned earlier that Monica Rial threatened to have Homeland Security and possibly the FBI protect her when Twitter users attempted to prompt a reaction out of her:

Well, here’s what happened.
During a debate with Twitter user @SSBmilkshake on February 11th, 2019; milkshake says: "If your gonna argue with me argue like a adult and stop pulling the harassment card I’m not harassing you I’m stating facts about the situation “ask the companies involved” are you not involved ? I believe you are that is why im asking you for proof"
So, Monica replies with a spark that sets a new fire by saying: "I don’t have all the proof because it was an investigation involving dozens of people across the US. You all have chosen to harass me because I was vocal. Contact me again and I’ll be sending your info it to my attorney and law enforcement. I will not be harassed."
Milkshake goes on to basically say he isn’t scared of her and this leads Monica to a panic where she says Homeland Security can take care of him.
Mind you this isn’t some DM it’s open and on Twitter for the whole world to see.
My question with this tweet is: How do you justify calling Homeland Security and your Attorney on a random guy on Twitter who was just commenting on your status?
Monica; you should’ve blocked and muted him and moved on like the rest of Twitter. To call Homeland Security on him is just plain asinine.
Now there are a lot of interesting things that have happened since then that usually involved the YouTubers DeepHumor ThatUmbrellaGuy, Yellow Flash, Hero Hei, Senpaiisnthome, and Supergirl11.
I highly recommend you check out their channels to see their own series of videos chronicling the events and how this event has forever changed the Dragon Ball English Dub fanbase. You should also read Monica and Jamie’s Twitter pages for more info as well.

To end with, you might be asking yourself; what’s going on now?

Well, after all that; Vic Mignogna was never proven to be guilty of great volumes of sexual misconduct or even sexual assault. However, Vic lost his job from Funimation and tried to sue them. He lost the court case but is looking to gain an appeal now.

Jamie Marchi and Monica Rial continue to work at Funimation.

As for the Twitter users?

They have all faded from this issue by blocking every person that they can.

Now the biggest question... What are your thoughts and feelings when it comes to a case like this that has divided the Anime Community?
