In the US states of New Jersey and New York comprising Ellis Island and the Liberty Island is located United States national monument the Statue of Liberty National Monument. The Statue of Liberty it includes on the Liberty Island is situated, and at the Ellis Island the former immigration station, in 1982 which opened and in 1954 was closed. As the part of the National parks of New York Harbor office by the National Park Service is managed the monument.
