She fell into his orbit

Jackson Groom

episode 20

She fell into his orbit. He knew not what he felt,

but it was different, he was sure of it.

With every awkward joke, she never ran, she encouraged it.

Every time they spoke, she made him feel like he was worth a shit.

She sat centered in his mind as if atop her throne

With her always sitting there, he never felt alone

There was something in her — that made him feel whole

But What made her special — to him seemed unknown

She was beautiful, talented, clever and funny

Understanding, Compassionate, caring and loving

Her Knowledge of wonderful things was exceptional

But, he started to realize what made her most special

After some thought it became pretty clear

What he liked most was that she was so weird

I know that sounds bad but, what I said is true

It was a GOOD thing, cause he was weird too.

Now…

As friendship developed, his feelings grew stronger

Perplexed by these feelings and how they were conjured

He shared with a friend who had known her much longer

Her advise to him was to not feel this way for her.

He welcomed the feeling though, opened his fragile soul

willing to follow, eager to explore.

At first just a friend but quickly his best

He shared with her all, his soul decompressed

He craved her attention, complete when receiving

Life without her was life without meaning

She was the piece that completed the puzzle

The key to his lock, the belt to his buckle.

Every moment he knows her, with longer exposure

the colors around him get bolder and bolder.

A feeling unsure of, that he’s only heard of

he’s finally feeling and that feeling was love.

…This is where things got fucked up.

Daydreaming their future as if it has happened.

Every moment away from her picks at his happiness.

He finds his soul mate to share what he’s discovered

She indeed feels the same, but feels it for another.

All of the sudden that love changes color.

What was once vibrant feels lifeless and muddled.

What can he do? This man is in trouble

He can’t share with her all of these feelings inside.

she’s too deeply entwined to be removed from his life.

He’ll sit with these feelings, he’ll stomach the strife. He’ll make up excuses, he’ll tell her lies.

To love what’s not yours is pain waging war

These feelings, these thoughts — explode at his core

Unwilling to accept but impossible to ignore.

What was once beautiful, now tattered and torn

He did crave attention, it used to have meaning

But now when he gets it, his heart takes a beating

This last puzzle piece doesn’t fit without struggle

This key is broken, this belt has a buckle.

That love is a virus. A mental illness that kills us.

This emotion that grows, takes control and distills lust.

From inside it’s this cancer that feeds on our spirit

A question unanswered, too deafening to hear it

But he loves her still, he must keep this inside

The harder it gets, the harder he’ll try

This dose of emotion, a rush like a drug…

This is the feeling of unattainable love.
