Heh, since public servant’s returns are so simple, they are no big deal. Don’t you get that is the original reason for a candidate to ‘release the returns’? So that a lifetime public servant can prove he wasn’t secretly getting rich or on the take or getting favors from the IRS or whatever. Of course it does no such thing, but it makes a good publicity stunt.

In Trump’s case, there’s no secret. He pays as little as possible while being as rich as possible. If anyone thinks he has cheated on this taxes, the IRS has a tip line. In any case, I’ve got no right to see his taxes. But further, his resistance has made me realize I never had a right to see any of their taxes, and it’s a bad precedent setting distraction that has nothing to do with the issues.

And then I realized I never have actually seen any of their taxes, I just hear CNN’s opinion on them. Gee, I wonder what their opinion of Trump’s taxes will be? Better than what they thought of Romney?

I hope he never releases them, and this whole ceremony becomes part of the archaic past, along with pistol duels and the vapors.
