Just because a statue is erected during a certain time does not necessarily mean it correlates with other specific events going on at that time, unless you have solid evidence for that. So far I have not seen any, merely a jumping to conclusions. The reason most monuments were erected during that time is because that is when the women’s groups such as the UDC became organized enough to begin serious fundraising to be able to afford to buy and erect the monuments, which there is ample evidence for. For example, the UDC was not founded until 1894. Again, please read Douglas J.
