The placebo effect is trivial to explain when we read the Webster’s dictionary definitition “improvement in the condition of a patient that occurs in response to treatment but cannot be considered due to the specific treatment used”

A placebo effect is a real effect that we do not understand, where we do not understand the cause of the effect.

That simple clarification answers all questions.
