aka taking payment for services/readings/healing/spiritual gifts

This is a tricky subject for most people, because of the attitude many of us have about money, or if we are coming from a place of financial lack. However, I thought it was important to address for anyone who is a healer, a reader, or has some other spiritual gift, and for anyone who is seeking help from the aforementioned people.

Money is quite simply an exchange of energy — it’s a concept based on receiving tribute/compensation for goods, information, gifts, time and services. In terms of spiritual law, an exchange of money for healing can be vital.

Healing requires that the person who wishes to be healed to invest in their own healing, and the transfer of money between the client and the healer shows that the client is ready to take responsibility for their healing. Not only that — receiving money as a healer confers spiritual protection to the healer, and compensates them not only for their time and skills, but for the physical effort that healing or clearing someone sometimes brings. Clearing entities or attachments — even if that energy moves through the healer and not into them — can still take a toll on the person doing the clearing and can leave them feeling drained.

Whilst it’s ok for a healer to offer free services from time to time, to continue to offer free

information or healing can be energetically draining for that person — which is why for healers and those with spiritual gifts, saying NO and having firm boundaries is a must. This may seem callous from the perspective of the person asking for aid, however when you view these services as they are — a transference of energy — you can see how exhausting it is for someone to keep giving pieces of themselves and their talents away constantly. We may think ‘but I’m just one person asking for help’, but we do not see how many other requests are being made of that person for assistance, and the cumulative effect of that constant draining of energy and what depletion it causes.

Offering money for healing shows that you are ready, willing and able to put effort in at your end — because if you are looking for someone to save you or give you all the answers via healing or a reading, you are approaching people with gifts in the wrong way. Additionally you are taking no personal responsibility for your healing, and perhaps most importantly — you are giving away your personal power, and asking the healer to give up theirs at the same time!

Most healers will be generous with their time and gifts, and many will help assess your situation if you cannot afford their stated prices, however I hope you can see how important it is for there to be an exchange of energy in order to commit to a healing journey. So many people give up their own personal power all of the time — one way we do this is by constantly asking for the answers to be given to us instead of researching and looking things up for ourselves. With the wealth of information available at our fingertips, we have almost everything we need at the press of a button. Time to take your power back and stand in your own strength!
