Upcoming Travel Destinations & My Vague Plan as a Digital Nomad
I’ve been lucky enough to visit some pretty phenomenal places (like the Arctic Circle), but I haven’t had the opportunity to study abroad or even travel abroad for more than a few weeks at a time. Never having lived outside of the United States, I’ve been overwhelmed by all the things I want to experience during my time as a digital nomad.
I have some flights booked and a trickle of freelance dev work, but I’m winging everything else. I don’t have a final return flight booked yet… or know when my trip is ending. Here’s a rough itinerary, but I’d appreciate any travel advice (especially about solo/long term travel) or recommendations on the following:
- NYC until mid August with a weeklong backpacking trip in Iceland early August
- Fly from the US with my mom (taking her to Europe for the first time) to Athens/Greek Islands in mid August
- Fly from Athens to Munich in late August
- Spend September traveling (not sure where) and definitely attending Oktoberfest
- Spend October at Sun and Co coliving space on the Eastern coast of Spain in Javea
- Spend November traveling Spain/Portugal
- Fly from Lisbon to the US late November
- Spend Thanksgiving to Christmas in Texas with a 10 day trip to the west coast
- Fly from the US to Thailand late December for New Years Eve in Phuket
- Spend January to March in Thailand with a few weeks in Australia/New Zealand (ideally at least a month living in Chiang Mai)
- Fly from Thailand to Vienna in late March
- No clue!!
Internet! I want your opinions! What are some things I have to check out on my trip?
