Thank you for the text, Renée S.
I said Sunday to my partner, and I repeat now. I don’t know if Ev did/is doing the marketing text himself and/or helped by marketing folks; either way, if he’s doing alone, the content is stupid, and if someone is helping him, he’s wasting marketing money. If they just had sent an email saying “Normal use will always be available, but we need some cash, so for X,XX you can have these additional benefits,” I’m pretty sure 1. they would be avoiding lots of trouble, and 2. tons of people would have signed.
Because saying all the blaaaaaaa he said, and adding, and I quote, “We will be routing 100% of the revenue from founding members (those who sign up in the first few months) to writers…” it is, actually, not a clever elevator pitch, as it lacks the main point: the value proposition.
Anyway. Whatever. I have work to do. I think about this someday.
Meanwhile, I’ll read people I can here, probably more in AEON, and keep writing here. For now.
Thank you again ❤
