If you drive regularly during the week, you have probably driven too aggressively on occasion or experienced road rage yourself. However, some drivers can be considered regular aggressive drivers who experience road rage frequently. These drivers can be a danger to other motorists on the road.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), any driving or operation of a vehicle that endangers or is likely to endanger other people or property is defined as aggressive driving. This type of driving is believed to be the cause of a major portion of car accidents in the country every year.

How Can Aggressive Driving Contribute to a Car Accident?

Aggressive driving or road rage can include various actions during driving:
• Making obscene gestures at other drivers in traffic.
• Cutting off other drivers that had the right of way.
• Racing and speeding.
• Failing to use your signal.
• Not allowing other drivers to merge or pass in front.
• Weaving through lanes of traffic carelessly.
• Tailgating.

What Do I Do If I Was Involved in an Aggressive Driving Accident?

Instead of blaming or apologizing, both drivers should instead politely exchange the appropriate insurance information right after a car accident.

After an aggressive driving accident, a police report should also be conducted. On the report, you can record the negligent and reckless behavior of the other driver if you were the victim of the accident.
