From Black Mirror to Elon Musk’s Face Reading

Every week I will be reading the face and analyzing the statement of different personalities. Send me your politician/business/idol name to susan@humanbehaviorlab.com

Did you ever watch a movie/ series and think, “Oh no, this is impossible! It’s never, ever going to happen”? Well, a few months ago, I was watching one of the most addictive shows I had encountered called Black Mirror; this show scares the soul out of me, but I can’t stop.

Netflix

The episode was S04 E06 · Black Museum, which aired on December 29, 2017. Please go to Netflix and watch! This is the scenario: a company developed a neurotransmitter that basically allows a person’s mind to be transferred to a hologram, and/or to another person to feel what others feel, through an implant to the brain. Impossible, no? Well, they are working on it! I will not give you any more details on the episode, as I want you to be just as wowed as I was.

Netflix

A week or two ago, browsing the 100 email subscriptions I get every day, I found this article, and I felt ice running through my spine.

In the online magazine [1] The Startup, I found this article that basically said that S04 E06 · Black Museum is happening. This is too neuro-advanced for me, so I will transcribe the first two paragraphs and give you all the links to read and research deeply into these few companies and ideas.

The Startup

In a study [2] published on May 14 in the journal eNeuro, researchers at UCLA described how they removed memories from one sea snail and injected them into another sea snail in the form of RNA. Nectome[3], a Silicon Valley startup, believes that one day they will develop the technology necessary to completely copy the physical structure of a human brain and be able to recreate it, along with the consciousness of the person it belonged to.

And then there is Neuralink[4], one of Elon Musk’s ventures. Neuralink doesn’t have an ultimate goal of “copying” or “reproducing” a human mind. They want to focus on the logical next steps: true interfaces between the biological human brain and the machines which will enhance and improve us.

Well, who else than mister genius Elon Musk would be involved? (And I say “genius” from a place of deep envy and admiration.) This man has gone where others are even afraid to put their noses.

Now, why would a physiognomy specialist, behavioral hacker, and researcher be writing about this, besides to try to shake the ice off my spine? Musk has features that made him who he is. Did you ever admire someone and a friend or colleague said, “You look like X or Y, and now your ego is huge”?

Well, what if I tell you what makes Elon Musk tick and what features made him “Mr. Innovation”? Maybe you are the next Elon. So grab a mirror and get ready.
