Internship #7 — I have a tight schedule this week but I handle it well.
Many of you may know how important time management is, especially nowadays when we experience the modern life. Before I came to the United States, I did not really care about time management. However, when I started studying in the US and started working part-time jobs, I have learned how to organize both my work and school schedule.
This blog, I will write my story about how I can handle my busy schedule this week. I helped as a counselor during the Film Camp with Family Support Services while still working after that.
If you read my blog, I have mentioned couple times that I have another job on campus besides my internship. Through that job, I had an opportunity to join the Film Camp with the team from Family Support Service. Joining Film Camp helped me to have a better understanding of teaching media for high school students. Even though the Film Camp was fun and inspiring, I could not avoid the fact that I had to work after that.
Monday and Tuesday were not bad because I could come home and work from home. However, on Wednesday, I had to come to the office for some scheduled video shootings, and Wednesday was the last day of the Film Camp as well. When we planned for the Film Camp, we thought to finish it before noon. However, the final presentation took a little bit longer, we also had a lot of fun and we did not want the camp come to an end, so we wrapped up everything a little bit later than expected. After that, I drove to my office immediately. Fortunately, I got back to work on time, but the thing was I did not have plenty of time to set up my equipment. Nonetheless, I used to experience this kind of situation before, I had some ideas of how to set up as fast as possible. My manager was surprised how fast I could set up equipment for his video, and he could not stop talking about it.
Overall, I had a busy week but it was a great one. I have gained more knowledge about teaching and time management. I will tell you more about my internship next blog, please stay tuned for it.
