No, not impossible. We did, and still do have matriarchal and egalitarian societies. European countries, and countries that are or were European colonies have spread a specific culture around our Earth. Sure it looks impossible because it feels ubiquitous, but once upon a time we also did not communicate with phones by typing into them.
