Sunday Accomplishment?
Plans have been set. Someone who should not be using the internet will have their wifi functioning following a bit of fiddling. After, directions will be given on numerous chores whilst the aged lady stands a foot away commenting on your every move.
Sanity is your only armament. Kindness, like breathing exercises pounded into the skull for that Transatlantic swim you have been preparing for. Preparations seem to always falter.
This morning I was reminded of my mother. We don’t have much of a relationship, but one important lesson of life did get transmitted. You can always go back. Second chances are more likely tenth or twentieth so don’t give up. My mother was sixteen when she had my oldest sister. My oldest sister is forty nine so you can do the math. From what I gather there was a shotgun wedding, but that was never mentioned much.
Later, as we became children and entered grade school my mother set about a task. She decided to go back to get her high school diploma. She went back to high school in her late twenties. She attended classes with the other high school age children. She wanted that experience. She did it all, and walked for commencement. We even had a giant, bigger than my own, graduation celebration.
Embarrassment is what you do to yourself.
Forget the attitudes and make your life, livable.
