Rapper and member of the 1500 collective BigBabyGucci’s recent tape with producer cohort Grimm Doza is a wonderfully produced tape that features lyrics of “taking bitches souls” by way of sex and lyrics of how everyone isn’t the gangster they say they are. I love they storyline behind the tape which is blatantly saying that BigBaby is somewhat of a revered figure, he practically takes on the character of a sex driven taker of souls, his lyrics aren’t the most wordplay driven yet they get their point across, there are also samples of the show “The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy” which heavily give insight into how BigBaby just wants to gain control, (Billy takes Death’s Scythe), and wants to live his life, (Billy’s mother says he must be a chiropractor in which he replies he wants to “juggle chickens”), maybe I’m just an over analyzing faggot but it’s just the vibe I got from the samples used throughout the tape which only contains seven tracks and is a dissapointing thirteen minutes long. In terms of BigBabys side of things it’s extremely positive & sets this tape apart from most of the tapes I’ve had the privilege of listening too.

Now let’s get onto Grimm’s side of things, his production is damn near flawless and allows BigBaby to flaunt his r&b skills on tracks like “IJUSTWANNABALL” & “SOUL REAPER”, and also lets the tape slowly evolve into a new genre that’s currently unknown but will be discovered soon. Grimm also lets the tape take form into somewhat of a vampiric sex story with the obvious distortion but obvious r&b vibe that takes place in the background.

Overall, this is a stellar tape that should be in at least your top ten and with the announcement of a sequel, BigBabyGucci & Grimm Doza have the chance to disrupt the underground rap scene for quite a while.
