At one time, the city became the largest port of the coal industry. The trade and financial sphere is well established here. Cincinnati is home to the stock exchange and offices of some of the world's largest companies. For example, such as Procter & Gamble or Toyota North America.

In 1788, the settlements of Columbia and Lausantville appeared on the banks of the Little Miami River. A year later, Fort Washington was built here. Already in 1790, a member of the Cincinnati military society, the governor of the Northwest, A. St. Clair, renamed Lausantville Cincinnati. Members of the society were veterans of the Revolutionary War. It was to them that the authorities gave out local territories for settlement. The city began to develop actively only four years later, after General E. Wayne won the battle with the Indian tribes.

The first Western steamer, New Orleans, landed on the Cincinnati coast in 1811. In 1832, the Miami-Air canal was completed, and already in 1843, the construction of the first railway branch, Little Miami, was completed. In 1854, Longfellow wrote his famous poem, The Song of Hiawatha. The poem records the second name of the city - the Queen of the West.

Trams have been operating in the city since the middle of the 19th century. The streets of Cincinnati are mostly one-way and are lined with four lanes in some places. Those streets that are located along the river are designated by numbers, and those that are perpendicular to it, the townspeople gave the names of the trees. The covered pedestrian crossing, which is built on the second floor level and connects buildings in the center of Cincinnati, also attracts the attention of tourists.
If you are visiting Cincinnati, be sure to visit the house where President William Taft was born or the house and museum of the famous writer Harriet Beach Stowe.
