Hibiscus

The hibiscus plant is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical, and tropical regions throughout the world.

Hibiscus plants are known for their large, showy flowers, which come in a wide variety of colors, including red, pink, yellow, orange, white, and purple. The flowers are typically 5–10 inches in diameter and have five overlapping petals. The leaves of hibiscus plants are also quite large and can be either green or variegated.

Hibiscus plants are relatively easy to care for. They prefer full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. They should be watered regularly, but not so much that the soil is soggy. Hibiscus plants can be propagated by cuttings or seeds.
