Sundance Vacations sponsors #55 Derrike Cope at Pocono Raceway
Sundance Vacations and NASCAR driver Derrike Cope have a long history of working together and this year they partnered again to support Race For The Kids. This news was so awesome, ESPN picked up the Sundance Vacations Press on it.! This partnership is in conjunction with the United Way of the Wyoming Valley’s Christmas in July Campaign. To raise awareness of the need for early childhood education, Derrike Cope spent time at the CEO Wienberg Food bank during the Christmas in July- Feeding and Reading Competition. He read “Go dog, Go!” by Dr. Seuss to area children from the local Catholic Youth Center. The children loved the event and were treated to signed copies of the book as well as ice cream and sprinkles.
NASCAR loves kids, and kids love NASCAR.
The children were thrilled to spend time with Derrike Cope, ’90 Daytona 500 Winner, who was awesome at connecting with the group and engaging them in story telling. The United Way’s Real Men Read initative is designed to show children that the people they look up to read, and that they should read too.
