I won’t repeat what most people here said. Suffice to say I think the bay area is extremely expensive — which you could have found out prior to moving here. As a child you fantasized about being an adult — well part of being an adult is being able to balance a budget. If working in SF was your dream, you could have found an apartment, with a room mate, in Oakland. Then maybe you could have afforded more groceries.
One small piece of advise: if you want to find a job in the marketing field, try to put this incident behind you as fast as possible. It does not highlight any of the skills employers search for in people who manage their public image. Nor is your judgement in attacking an executive publicly, a trait HR departments are actively seeking. They all research candidates online. And you want their top search results to show your skills and experience, not reasons for them to move on to the next resume.
So take down the hand-out links — there are people around you far worst off than you. Remove links to this article from your social profile. Wait a while, and seek a new fulfilling job, that will allow you to live a respectfully, while you climb the career ladder. One day, you’ll be able to laugh about this incident.
