The thing is, racism never went away. You just can’t be openly racist, at least toward black people, and get away with it. But, here’s a few examples.
Twerking, often attributed to Miley Cyrus at the height of its popularity rather than the black women who’ve been doing it for years. Yet, Jamaican dancehall is still looked down upon.
Eminem. No disrespect to him, at least about this subject. But, before him, hip hop was incredibly controversial. But, white parents went out in droves and bought his album. Ironically, he was more vulgar than most other rappers at the time. He talks about it himself in the song White America.
