Showing compassion by throwing paper towels...really?
As if there wasn't enough mess going on in our country, with fires, earthquakes, hurricanes and mass murders, we now have this...
A sitting President of the United States of America going to, not a third world county but part of our own country, a state that has been devastated by the biggest hurricane they seen in years.
And here he is throwing paper towels at people there.... wtf?
But just when you think it can't get any worst, he then tells our country... don't worry it's not as bad as hurricane Katrina was, even though 93 percent of the country still doesn't have electricity, how much worst does it have to be?
And then he says... "By the way, this is really messing up our budget" Are you kidding me?
This has to be a joke right?
but no, the joke is on us people, as we are stuck with this non compassionate, narcissistic, self-centered, reality tv show president for the next four years!
Yes, folks you voted him in!
Is this what you do when you finally go to part of your own country, where so many people lost their homes, their cars, their jobs, do you think handing out flashlights and then telling them they need to work harder is helping?
As a person who went through hurricane Andrew and hurricane Wilma and I was no where in need as these people in Puerto Rico are, I know how hard it is, how much clean up there is.
During Wilma we worked 10 days straight just on the yard, we lost power, there was long lines at every gas station, no food to be found and we were no where near as bad as they are right now.
I can not even imagine what they are dealing with day after day, for weeks now. And this is how you chose to speak to them, you should be ashamed of yourself.
My heart broke every day when so many of my friends couldn't get a hold of their parents or family, when they cried when they saw the damage on the television and then the relief of finally knowing they are alive but living in sub human conditions. I also have family there, this touches me deeply but not even for that fact but just because people are suffering, doesn't that alone make you want to do something, make you want to rise above and do the right thing. If it doesn't there is something wrong with you.
Maybe we are all getting desensitize to all of this, I for one am on sensory overload, I am sad and as a empath, I feel others emotions and I know so many others are feeling this way as well.
There are too many tragedys going on in the world, just when you are almost finishing processing one thing here comes another at you. It almost does feel like the world is coming to an end.
I don't know what is going to happen next but I know we need leadership that shows compassion for all human beings, some one who cares about all of us not just the ones with money. Who is out there for the good of all mankind not just his own kind.
We need to stand up and be heard, we need to stand together as a united front and say "This is unacceptable and we will not stand for this anymore"
We need to protest, to blog, to put it out on all of social media, that we need to once again become the country that other country's look up too, not the one that they make fun of.
And we need to help each other out, as I always say be the change you want to see, step up, help your neighbor, volunteer, send what you can to people who need it.
Start your own movement, be the voice of change...show the world we are the light...not the throwing of the flashlights.
