7 of us — 4 people, 3 dogs — went out to Rapidan Wildlife Management Area (Virginia) for the holiday weekend. Rapidan borders the east side of Shenandoah National Park but because of the poorly maintained road getting into it, the number of visitors is near nothing. Our site was 15 feet from the Rapidan river and a 1 hour walk to President Hoover’s Rapidan Camp. We lived like kings/queens and the dogs pretended to be wild animals for a weekend.
