Dear Tim Cook…, A Case For Touch-enabled macOS
Austin Condiff

I’m with you 100% on this, and those are some beautiful mockups to start seeing the combination of macOS and iOS. I’ve used Windows 10 and I enjoy the interface they’ve created and how they’ve integrated touch into a mouse-centric environment, but Apple could do it better. The UI on macOS is the reason I’ve stuck with it for so long. I’m also someone who has not bought into the entire Apple ecosystem as I actually prefer Android over iOS, but I think the melding of macOS style UI with iOS style as you have mocked up is really nice.

There are, of course, caveats and so much more to dig into when it comes to adding touch support. While the Touch Bar is a step in the right direction, and I haven’t used one yet, but I can just see it as distracting in my personal workflow. Having to take my eyes off the screen and down to see what UI my Touch Bar is on and where to press to do what I need doesn’t seem as intuitive to me.

The introduction of the Surface Studio was jaw dropping. It’s what every creative wants and craves… At least every single one I know… But we want it to run macOS.
