Well, many Christian followers also have been very fond of persecution or forced conversion along with followers of Judaism throughout history that I know of (pretty easy to find).

Islam prohibits forced conversion. Of course like other major religions many of their followers have also been fond of persecution and forced conversion throughout history. This is nothing new from religion nor has is it been a majority belief to do so.
