Your initial statement is vague and a bit open to interpretation of your actual intent in the meaning of what you mean by dressing and acting in a certain way for attention. What is “ social norm” mean to you and exactly what kind of actions do feel blacks do that exceed the limits of a “social norm?”

A person the other day told me (paraphrase) if all blacks, that have one at least, would just stop driving “cadillac pimp cars” then cops and citizens wouldn’t feel like blacks are thugs who are up to no good. As if any black man driving a cadillac is a pimp in the process of committing criminal acts. I am hoping she just forgot to add extra information to her statement, but I don’t think so. Hearing these things is why I read comments like yours and don’t take any other way then when you see blacks acting different than what your personally use to and that they need to be more like what you want them to act like.

If that wasn’t your intent of that comment then I have no idea what you meant. Unless you mean black celebrities? Like that nut job Kanye West? Even so the clothing from white celebrities doesn’t cease to make me wonder either. I totally understand if by “social norm” you meant something so ridiculous it is not a normal site for anyone to witness.

Like I said I interpreted your comment like it was meant in an objective manner by saying that the general population of blacks normal everyday behavior is how normal people should act. Also, their everyday regular fashion wasn’t normal clothes like blacks urban style is just dress up and they can’t even be taken seriously enough. Like blacks just pretend to act and dress the way they do everyday just so they can get attention, so please clarify if you meant it all in a different context than any of that.
