When I started thinking about how the Maker movement fits into English class, I immediately thought about the reading-writing workshop model: writers learning the craft of writing and “making” stories and poems and movie scripts and graphic novels etc.

I also agree with what Félim said about not throwing out everything on the left side of the chart, but rather for striving for balance across the two. Writer’s workshop can’t be just free time to write: the students also need carefully crafted lessons to guide them along their journey.
