Forest was kinda wrong…

Forest Gump famous line was “life is like a box of chocolate you never know what your gonna get”. I totally agreed with Mr Gump. It was probably one of the most profound statements about life except he was a little wrong.

Well, let me explain. Now that I’ve wised up some and have had to deal with some of the life’s unexpected challenges I realized that you do know what you’re going to get in your “box of chocolates” It will be one of two things: Joy or pain. The surprise will be the manner in which it appears and experienced. The box could hold the death of a friendship or the death of a loved one. It could hold a trip to London or a million bucks. The degree that you worked for or meeting the love of your life. There’s Joy or pain there’s nothing else.

What’s imperative to remember in times of pain is that it will not last forever. It’s important that we are present and careful not to miss the lesson life’s trying to teach us, and in times of joy remembering to savor each moment… don’t be so anxious and scared to embrace or question it that you miss it. We all have a choice; we can choose to be open to the moments, or we can miss them or let them overtake us…So yeah he was right life is like a box of chocolates, but we do know what we’re going to get.
