IN A NUTSHELL:

As soon as I heard this title, I was intrigued.

Karen is an entitled middle-aged woman whose demanding nature has alienated her neighbors and family. After a series of instances displaying her privilege and prejudice, Karen receives an ‘intervention’ by some unconventional spirits.

THINGS I LIKED:

  • I hate never seen Michele Simms in anything before. She did a great job painting the “Karen” we’ve all come across over the years.
  • Each of the ghosts was unique and entertaining.
  • I love segways! It always makes me laugh when someone rides one in a movie.
  • Entertaining special effects.
  • The humorous dialogue made me laugh on the inside and outside at times.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:

  • It’s definitely a low-budget movie. I imagined how much better it could have been with a bigger budget and an A-list starlet in the role.
  • There are some bad acting moments.
  • You probably won’t recognize most of the actors in this.
  • So many offensive moments that will make you cringe.
  • So many missed opportunities in the script.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:

  • Profanity
  • Some crude references.
  • Crude conversation in a bathroom
  • Lots of alcohol
  • Racist comments
  • The ghost of Christmas Past is a Black transvestite.
