Today we have a special announcement. We are introducing “Website-animations” to our Webdesign category. Some of you might already have noticed that we included a new vertical dark blue sidebar underneath the “Site of the day” awarded website. So what is it all about?

First of all let me say that we started primarily as a designblog with heavy focus on webdesign. This hasn’t changed ever since. We have always tried to source and award the best websites out there. We give all websites the room they need to fully blossom and inspire our community. We show a short preview screenshot AND a full screenshot of every website which is our unique selling point, we think.

“We put heavy focus on representing each webdesign project in the best possible way.”

With webdesign becoming more and more interactive and full of animations we felt like we had to add another feature to our Webdesign category. The new sidebar now plays short videos of the most interesting websites that add a whole new layer to the user experience. It is as simple as hovering on the small website thumbnails and navigating vertically. By clicking on the videos you will get forwarded to the full website screenshot with the full-size video underneath. See an example here.

Some might think it is just a neat feature, but we think it is certainly more. By testing, we found out that people like the new short animations a lot as it gives them a quick overall impression about each website. If we feature a website we are now promoting a screenshot and the new animation video too across our social media channels. We put heavy focus on representing each webdesign project in the best possible way. Another new feature is the „Site of the day“ award logo underneath the post. Simply said — we want to inspire and we want to make webdesigners proud.

If you have a comment, idea or feedback let us hear your thoughts. And don’t forget to share your great website projects with us, we would love to see them.

Now go and visit Mindsparkle Mag ;)
