Challenge.

Futile my life you have made,
O’ god, don’t you understand!?
Kindled in me fire dual
And gave only one life to protect.
Kept me in vicinity of my beauty you created
yet distanced from her heat.
My coldness turns her sight in my misery.
And to wait I live.
I cannot remove my sight away from her
for if she is extinguished, I am done with you.
It is your challenge to me
and mine to you too.
To protect me from your cruelty
my dear has beckoned bushes!
I am astonished at ferocity with which she burns
for I can see it light up the sky.
She says it’s a safe distance.
I nod.
I know you know.
