  • It was built in 1900 and first used as a railway station.
  • There are 35.000 square meters of glass here. One of the reasons of using glass is to make the light and bright atmosphere inside.
  • It has the largest collection of impressionist (over 480 paintings) and post-impressionist ( over 1100 paintings) works of art in the world.
  • During the World War 2, it became a reception centre for prisoners.
  • There are 10 escalators,12 lifts, and elevators in the museum.
